Heard Tell w/ Andrew Donaldson for 09FEB22
Canadian Truckers Protests, AstraZeneca, Amir Locke, w/ guest Dennis Sanders
Heard Tell for February 9th, 2022, is turning down the noise of the news cycle and getting to the information we need about the Canadian Truckers Protests and takeover of Ottawa. We go past the slogans and signs to ask the questions we should of all such movements to find out what they are really about: who are the leaders, and follow the money. We cover a BBC story that wonders why the AstraZeneca version of the COVID-19 vaccine went from hailed medical marvel to forgotten and underused. Former Pope Benedict XVI issues a rare public statement apologizing for abuse by the clergy of the church, but stopping short of taking responsibility, so we discuss the long running issues of abuse, power structures, and how the church’s response to victims is still inadequate. Guest Dennis Sanders joins us to talk about yet another police shooting in his home city of Minneapolis, this time the Amir Locke killing. We discuss why Minneapolis keeps winding up in the heads for police violence, the suspect and dangerous use of no-knock warrants, criminal justice reform, social justice, and much more. Plus, an example of not knowing what you are buying from a yard sale. All that and more on this Wednesday edition of Heard Tell.
