Heard Tell for Monday, March 7nd, 2022 is turning down the noise and getting to the information we need on how the crisis in Ukraine, Russia’s war of aggression, and events surrounding open war in Europe ought to be bringing clarity to how we view the world, our politics, and our debates over culture. We talk about how the bravery of the Ukrainian people, the evil actions of Vladimir Putin, and the extraordinary leadership of the Ukrainian government throws our own issues, politics, and leadership into stark relief that demands we reconsider what we are doing as a people. We once again check on Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform and find their failure to launch to be pretty much what we predicted both on the technical side, and in the problems and law of diminishing returns of focusing on a narrow audience. Guest Tod Kelly, a long time long form journalists, joins Heard Tell to talk about the domestic reaction to the War in Ukraine, how some folks suddenly changed when faced with Putin’s invasion, and how others stayed exactly the same.
