Our guest today is Felix Hosse of the EGO Institute in Berlin, Germany and a Young Voices contributor. Felix walks us through the history beyond the current headlines of how German and Europe became so dependent on energy from Russia in the first place, where the opposition to nuclear power comes from, and why it is being re-examined in light of recent events. Felix also talks about the political situation, with Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s “traffic light” coalition trying to stay together in the face of economic crisis. Felix also explains how the German population is responding to the crisis, answers if there is a sense of urgency and if headlines about panic are accurate, and explains what can and should be done about the energy crisis from this point on.
